We are a multi-disciplinary STEAM competition team of 6th, 7th and 8th graders from Hampton Cove Middle School in Huntsville, Alabama. We compete in 5 major events: Future City, FTC Robotics, Greenpower F24 Racing, Science Olympiad and Technology Student Association. Our goal is to provide positive STEAM experiences to as many students as possible, and gain a strong foundation of science and technology skills for the future.

In the 2024-25 school year, we expanded our robotics team to a Varsity and an Intramural Team. The Varsity Team, Tropic-Bulls, won the Design Award at the earned the Top Middle School award for Alabama Technology Student Association. We're sending 14 team members to compete at TSA Nationals in June 2025.
Greenpower F24 Electric Car Racing had a phenomenal season, earning 3 podium placements and finishing 4th in the nation at the end of the regular season. We completed in the middle of the pack throughout both heats of the National Championship at Talladega Speedway.
This year's Future City earned an award for outstanding use of City Planning Techniques.
HCMS STEAM is proud to be Alabama's Top Middle School Team for our second year running! Our own Jason Martin will serve as the State Middle School Vice President for 2025-2026 school year.
At last year's TSA Nationals, we met the student candidates for National leadership, competed in a whopping 18 events, won 5 semifinalist, 1 finalist and a first place trophy (Medical Technologies). We hope to experience similar success in 2025.
